Privacy policy

What we collect

gelatincalculator.com does not ask you for personal data and keeps no database of its own. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, and no contact form. We set no cookies of our own, and we do not use localStorage or sessionStorage. Two things happen at the hosting layer rather than in our code: the routine request logging our hosting provider performs on every site it serves, and Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views. Both are described below.

Every page is static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript served from a content delivery network. The calculator runs entirely in your browser: the numbers and selections you enter are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, are never stored, and are discarded when you close the tab.

That describes what we do, which is not the whole picture. Pages on this site load the Google AdSense advertising script, and Google may set its own cookies or read device information when it loads. That is separate from our own data collection and is described in the Advertising and Third parties sections below. Our typefaces are not a third-party request: the font files are served from this site.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) records standard HTTP request logs that include IP address, user agent, and the page requested. These logs are retained per Cloudflare's standard policies and are used only for abuse prevention and operational troubleshooting. The only thing we run on top of these logs is the page-view counting described under Analytics below.

Analytics

Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare runs as part of hosting this site. Cloudflare states that it "does not use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, to collect usage metrics" and does not "fingerprint" individuals by IP address or User Agent string. It gives this site page-view totals, not information about you.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense. The AdSense JavaScript snippet (pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js) is loaded on every page. Any ads shown are served by Google's Auto Ads system.

When ads are served, Google may use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites
• Personalize advertising based on browsing behavior
• Measure ad performance and prevent fraud

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings . You can learn more about how Google uses data when you use partner sites or apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites .

We do not control which specific ads are shown and we do not have access to individual user browsing data through AdSense.

Third parties

Two third-party scripts load on our pages. The first is Google AdSense, described in the Advertising section above; in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom that script also shows Google's own consent message, and your choice there is recorded by Google, not by us. The second is Cloudflare's Web Analytics beacon (static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js), which Cloudflare adds to pages as it serves them; that script is described under Analytics above. Nothing else is called from our pages. The typefaces "DM Serif Display" and "Inter" are served from this site rather than from Google Fonts, so displaying them sends no request to Google.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience cooking reference. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. We have no way to identify the age of a visitor, and we ask for no information that would reveal it. What Google may collect through the advertising script is governed by Google's own policies, linked above.
